Stop tying your blessings to the ground
Only allowing God to work and move based on where you are right now
God is bigger than any geographic location
God can handle every situation
Bless me like this
Then bless me like that
Bless my friends too and cut them some slack
But only bless me in my little corner
I’m a spiritual babe right now, for the big stuff, wait til I’m older
Why is it only a blessing if it comes in the packaging you require
When God is trying to meet your heart’s desire
That desire and His will just might take you out of your own backyard (your comfort zone)
And plant your feet on higher ground, closer to the throne
Now those are the blessings we are most scared of
Because they might take us away from the ones we love
They might put a distance between us and our cheering section
Might cause some separation from those who show us affection
When God gives you a blessing its not just for you
It’s a seed planted because He has work for you to do
So please don’t tie your blessing to the ground
Discern the voices so you know God’s sound
Listen to the spirit and move out in faith
Don’t be hindered by circumstances thinking you don’t rate
God has equipped you to do mighty things
Don’t be distracted by the sadness that life sometimes brings
Stop sitting on your blessing
You might lose the lesson
The work God has for you
May mean bidding your current location/occupation/situation/relations “adieu” (goodbye)
Bask in the mercy and grace you’ve found
Stop tying your blessings to the ground

Been there..
Done that…
Allowed myself to get off track
Learning what it means to be humble and true
Accepting the blessing of being spiritually in tune
Realizing that a painful lesson
Can be a blessing
If it brings me closer to repentance and confession
If it causes me to lean NOT to my own understanding
But yield to wisdom and divine planning
Learning some of my losses really were gains
Making room for God’s provision which comes without shame
No regrets or apologies
When I adopt godly theologies
I wanna smile next time I say…
Been there…
Done that…

Is your ship tied in the harbor
When it should be out at sea
As you watch the other boats sail past, do think
Wow, that should be me…
Are you looking around at the other ships secured at the dock
Wondering what their story is as you search for the key to your own lock
What’s keeping you in the harbor is joy, fear or pain
What’s keeping you from venturing out?
Is it stress or strain
You thought the harbor would be safe
And shield you from life’s harsh blows
You thought the harbor would be a refuge and allow you to take life slow
But the truth is the harbor can be an unfriendly place just like the sea
Turns out it doesn’t matter where you are if you have no sanity
Perhaps you’ve stayed in the harbor too long
Your joy as a result has come and gone
You’ve climbed some mountains and stumbled into some valleys
You’ve crossed some rivers in that ole ship
But you lost some of your crew when the boat began to tip
You lightened your load to avoid sinking
You cast aside your cares when the boat started leaking
You made it back to the harbor a bit worse for the wear
There was a comfort and a solace to be found there
But now that you are in the healing mode
The harbor should no longer be your abode
There’s a time and a place for everything
Its time to get back out there for there’s a new song to sing
Push out from the harbor and embrace your right now
Its time to put your hand back on the plow
There is a corner of the universe you need to visit
Some places and people who need your brand of exquisite
A word on your heart meant to come from your lips
The Gladys Knight in you is ready to dance with someone else’s Pips
You have nothing to lose but the world to gain
Not perfect just pressing trying to stay in your lane
So as you look in the mirror and resolve to embrace what you see with clarity
Pull up your anchor (insecurity, heartache, fear, doubt) and head out to sea
