SAY IT WITH ME....Encouragement for the REAL world!

A Tribute to the Late, Great, Mother of the Civil Rights Movement

SAY IT WITH ME.....

I will not move to the back of the bus
I have paid the price
Run the race
Endured the hardship
Made the sacrifices
I will not move to the back of the bus

I'm tired
I'm weary
I've worked hard today
I will not move to the back of the bus

This is my seat
This is my space in time
It is my hour to stand my ground
Hold my own
My time to speak with courage and conviction

This day has been coming for a long time
I suspect there will be more days in the future such as this
I will not move to the back of the bus

I waited my turn
Paid my fare
I have taken my seat in my rightful place
I will not move to the back of the bus

Oh yes, I've given up my seat before
But this time things are different
I'm not the same person I used to be
Not falling for the same mess that used to trip me up and have my head spinning around
I will not move to the back of the bus

I like it up front
The view is clear
I can see what is ahead of me
I am no longer distracted by what is behind me
I am closer to the goals I have for myself
I will not move to the back of the bus

Being close to the driver (the Creator) is exactly where I need to be
If I stick close, listen well, pay attention, and follow directions then I won't miss my stop
Last time I sat in the back I got off on Trouble Boulevard when I should have gotten off on Prosperity Parkway
It took me a long time to get on the right route
I can't afford that kind of delay again
I will not move to the back of the bus

There is no one more deserving of this seat than me
I will not move to the back of the bus
