Getting out of my own way

Remembering who I am (the clay)

Allowing “The Potter” to do what only He may

Today I’m striving to get out of my own way

This brick wall that I keep running into

Is really my own selfish desires showing through

Showing through the superficial side of me

Exposing the world to the not so nice parts of my personality

I’m not happy where I’m at or where it seems I must go

Its time for me to stop guessing and rely on what I know

The truth may hurt but it often times protects

Keeps a hedge of safety around God’s elect

I will not continue to put God in a box when I pray

Its one of the things that will help me get out of my on way

There seems to be some confusion

That perpetuates my disillusion

Its not about where I’ve been or the mistakes in my past

Its about where I’m going and staying on task

I cannot deny the sins of past

They are the foundation of my deliverance, the reason I can say FREE at last

I’m far from perfect but I’m pressing, perfecting as I go

Paying close attention and learning as I grow

There may be times when I stumble and stray

But that’s when it’s the most important to get out of my own way!
